Officially launched in the Fall of 2019 in Orlando, Florida, Primal Productions MGMT was created by founder and manager, Jon to focus on DJs and producers that have a knack for a deeper, bassier design with genres like experimental, hybrid trap, riddim and dubstep. Now he presents artists Dr.Ops, ØSØ, Frog PoP and DMT!.
Music was also always part of Jon’s life. First beginning to listen to rock, heavy metal, punk and indie, he eventually started diving deep into EDM at 16 years old. A couple years later, everything changed after he was exposed to Benga's '26 Basslines' wobbling through his ears. Imprinting dubstep onto his own musical tastes, he began to listen to artists like Rusko and Bar 9, who took up much of his CD collection at the time.
As the artist manager of Primal Productions, Jon has experienced years of change and evolution in the EDM soundscapes. From underground raves with early artists like Crystal Method and Paul van Dyke to a more massive scene with big names like Capsa, Rusko and original Excision to the world of festivals today, his exposure to a diverse spectrum of genres and love of dance music inspired him to create Primal Productions as a way to offer a home talented and rising artists.
Born and raised out of San Diego, Christian or better known as ØSØ, was the first artist to join the Primal Productions team. DJing straight out of school, he first began his career performing at small house parties and local venues. He some time later got his first lucky break, getting the opportunity to DJ at his first major rave in San Diego.
Since then, ØSØ has had the opportunity to play live performances in Mexico and all over San Diego. Only just starting to produce a year ago, he has already begun to craft his own signature style that incorporates a rap and hybrid trap sound with embedded elements of riddim and house music with first productions 'Mashup' and recent unknown ID track.
With his "Throwback Gem" mix on SoundCloud, ØSØ makes it clear that not only is he a great DJ, but that he also has a diverse taste in the heavier spectrum of bass music with genres like riddim, dubstep, trap, drum n' bass, hybrid sounds and more. Recently teasing his soon to be released first single 'JON WIIICK' featuring AZMUH, he will only continue rising from here.
Next up on the Primal Productions roster is DJ and producing duo group Dr. Ops. Consisting of members Arjay and Jacob, these guys came together after meeting one another by chance while waiting in line for shuttles to EDC in 2018. These two would eventually become best friends and ultimately a powerful duo group.
Even though Arjay and Jacob were countries apart, they found solace through their friendship during tough times and decided to make a trip to Sydney a year after EDC to meet. Realizing that they both had a passion for music, they became captivated by EDM culture and grew to really enjoy bass music, specifically dubstep, which helped bring these two together as best friends and a DJing and producing duo group.
With a mission to offer therapy to others, give back through fundraising through events and merch sales, and offer their take on dubstep and bass music, Dr.Ops was born. Now in 2020, this dup group has released their first song ‘Deeper’ in collaboration with DJ and producer Clomp, followed by two installments of their intense mix series, "Neck Brace."
Performing live at shows for artist idols like Boogie T, Subtronics, Adventure Club and Barely Alive amongst others, this has been some of the best times of these guys’ lives. With their first solo track just released today, titled 'Time to Die,' this is just the beginning duo group Dr.Ops.
Based out of Germany, DJ and producer Frog PoP is one of Primal Productions' quickly rising and continuously evolving artists. Officially launching his brand in 2017, this artist has had years of experience with turntables, recording mixes and mashups, learning to produce, self-teaching himself social media marketing and dabbling in multiple genres.
First producing with Bitwig and FL Studio to experiment with various sounds, loops and samples, Frog PoP began creating electronic dance music in the house spectrum with 'Over the World' and 'Long Way.' Eventually gaining exposure to labels Disciple and Rushdown Records, he found himself inspired by artists Oliverse, Virtual Riot, kokj, Papa Khan and Ace Aura amongst others.
Recently switching to Ableton, Frog PoP released his first melodic riddim single using the platform, titling it 'Progress.' Now, he plans to work with rappers and more DJs and producers to release music that continues to mean something to him. Always looking to grow as an artist, he intends to continue merging a more melodic style of riddim with other various genres moving forward.
As the latest artist to join Primal Productions, DJ, producer and songwriter DMT! is from the midwest and has had years of experience to find his own signature blend of bass-heavy trap vibes.
Known also as DIllon Torres, DMT! was originally from Indiana, where he grew up to appreciate music at a very young age and years later began producing the day he picked up his first beat pad at the age of 17. Starting first as a hip-hop producer for a couple years, he eventually decided to pursue a career in music at Full Sail University in Florida.
Quickly getting introduced to the club scene and popularity of dance music at Full Sail, DMT! became fascinated by the dance music culture. Improving his hip-hop production ability, learning how to produce dance records and later pick up DJing at this time, he experienced a slight setback when he had to return home to save for returning to school.
Officially launching the DMT! moniker in 2018, he began releasing music that spanned across genres hybrid trap and bass house with elements of wobbly dubstep. With notable remixes for artists like Party Favor, Lookas and Louis the Child to name a few, it was safe to say he was finding his own sound and his own path. Graduating from Full Sail in 2019, he went on to release tastefully bassy and well received debut EP, The Wake at the start of this year.
Jon has undoubtedly hand picked a powerful selection of artists, creating an eclectic team that is destined to push the envelope by creating a full "Radical Audio Visual Experience (R.A.V.E.)" for fans. With deep wobbles to blistering visuals and killer merchandise, the Primal Productions collective will certainly set the tone in the industry for what's to come next.
