After looking back at Southrydge Freedom's ambient trap hit 'Take Your Time' a few weeks ago, it is only appropriate to continue diving deeper as we wait for what he's crafting next ahead of his recent electro house banger 'Topaz.' Capable of designing tasteful productions across the wide spectrum of bass music, he is no stranger to different, eclectic genres. Continuing a theme of nostalgia, today we will get lost in melodically, chilled out release 'A Link To The Past.'
As an artist who has enjoyed playing video games through much of his life, Southrydge Freedom has applied elements of some of his favorite titles into a selection of records in the past. Namely, his Link trilogy is one of the highlights of his career, as each song is accompanied by color, vibrancy and exuberant energy. Each offering is unique in their own ways, as 'Kokiri Girl' is a calming future bass track filled with gentle vocal samples and airy instrumentation, while 'Gerudo's Valley' is designed as a wild hybrid ride that blends trap, festival vibes and addictive glitch hop.
While Colorado based DJ and producer Southrydge Freedom has dabbled in a variety of genres over the years like hip-hop, rap, bounce, dubstep, ambience, trap, chill and house music amongst others, some of his best work comes from his influences and personal tastes. Drawing from Zelda yet again, his Link trilogy comes to a close with calmingly powerful 'A Link To The Past.' Having been originally released in 2016, this is a future bass meets house track that consists of vocal samples, a mystical melody, captivating synths and tasteful bass.
For all the fans that have enjoyed productions like 'Kokiri Girl,' 'Take Your Time,' 'Yesterday' and summer single 'Topaz,' rest assured that Southrydge Freedom will be returning with fresh new content soon. For now, four years later, listeners will have to get lost in 'A Link To The Past' and enjoy one of his timeless, calming hits.
