Producer, beats maker and tastemaker Staxx The Human has been crafting his sound for three years and after four EPs, four singles and countless collaborative work with other artists, he has unveiled his first full length album, Don't Get Stung. Representing a diverse taste in hip-hop based genres like boom bap, trap music, lofi and chillhop, this is a release that undoubtedly merges industries.
Born and raised out of South Carolina, current Idaho resident Staxx The Human has made connections with a large number of artists over the years. His journey began when he started his collaborative project New Breed Radio alongside mutual friends to sign and discover new talent in the rap and hip-hop industry. Bringing together elements of a label, radio show and eventually a blog, he gained the opportunity to work with many rising artists.
After moving across the country, Staxx The Human decided to rebrand the project New Breed Promo as a way to continue promoting underground rappers, producers and singers. In the years to follow, he would gain a lot of success from producing for other artists, but most importantly, he would begin to blend his own flavor of sound.
Dabbling in a variety of hip-hop styles like lofi, chillhop and trap, Staxx The Human has evolved considerably over the years. Drawing from artists influences like Kanye West, Nujabes and Nate Fox to name just a few, he has created quite the roster of productions. With stand out EP series Idle Hands alone, he has fused trap beats, heavier lofi and chillhop to present something new.
Following lofi release of highlight track 'Lighthouse in the Fog' from Idle Hands 3 and hip-hop production 'I Know, I Know' with rappers Kiara Stefania and Ravey Rave earlier this year, Staxx The Human just released his first full length album, Don't Get Stung. Featuring ten records alongside two remastered bonus tracks, this is an eclectic release that has something for everyone.
In collaboration with rapper and vocalist AC-94, Don't Get Stung starts with a tasteful classic hip-hop sound with 'Intro.' Featuring jazzy instrumentation, meaningful lyrics, careful vocals and a welcoming melody, it makes for a perfect introduction. The album then transitions to chillhop record '3 Flames Emojis,' a song filled with piano riffs, sax and absolute unparalleled flavor.
One of the standout tracks, 'Void,' is without a doubt a banger amongst chillhop, lofi and chilled out hip-hop vibes. If listeners were not captivated yet, they certainly will be after putting this particular song on repeat a couple of times. Perfectly balancing bass, sampled instrumentation and a hypnotic beat, this song is carefully mastered and well deserving of a listen.
Closing out the album with remastered bonus tracks, 'Focus' and 'CLDCTY,' Staxx The Human makes Don't Get Stung come full circle. Starting with hip-hop, flowing to chillhop and closing with tasteful lofi, this was a release truly for all listeners in the chill spectrum of the EDM soundscapes and the hip-hop community.
A truly diverse producer and tastemaker, he has gone from podcast host and beats maker for others to revealing his own signature flavor of chillhop, lofi and hip-hop.
